Grandma Reba came to stay with the boys while Levi and I went to Vegas for a conference I attended for work. It was a good time! I will have to upload pics another day of our adventure in Vegas. They boys had a good time with Grandma!
Pacen's medication was increased to take out a small elephant as I mentioned in the previous post, well, at least I think I mentioned it there. Current dose is 2 caps Miralax split into 4 doses and 7ML lactulose twice daily.
He went poop squishy out the sides like you'd except for that kind of medication, but only for a couple days and then we were back to the sticky play dough poop that has a dead smell to it. Sorry for the TMI, but do ya smell what I'm steppin in over here? It's not normal.
I had the phone consult with Dr. Santos' office yesterday, then there was an emergency so of course they didn't call me back until today. Typical of their office, always delayed, nothing ever runs smoothly.... no pun intended.
Verdict: Up his meds again. Same Miralax dose, but 8ML twice daily of the lactulose to see if he can keep the soft poop instead of the sticky play dough poop. We go back to the doc on 17Sept to discuss a colonoscopy to rule out a few more things. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I hardly see adding 2ML of lactulose making a slight bit of difference. What's done is done, I am waiting on another referral for a 2nd/3rd opinion for Pacen from a Pediatric GI in Albuquerque**, and i've been emailing back and forth with a top colorectal specialist out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
**Dr. Harwood just called me back from my email to him this morning about Pacen's referral being switched. We should be able to schedule the appt with the new GI in Albuquerque early next week**
Oh yes, and we go to see the Neurologist tomorrow. Maybe we will get the "all clear" from at least one doctor ... Pacen is doing so well with his development and is right on track! I don't foresee any set backs from the Neuro.
