Pacen's eczema is still flared, and I will show you a before and after photo of how many more spots showed up after 2 more days. A few more new ones poped up over the weekend and hopefully this steroid cream will be kicking the rest of out his system. Some of the spots were oozing a clear liquid, especially near his elbow crease. The red spots are really thick and crusty, and the rest of his body feels like sandpaper, even after tons of ointments and creams.
Before and After 2 days after eating tuna, still flaring.
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) REALLY describes Pacen to a T. Both the allergist and GI have mentioned it before without going into too much detail. He could probably be clinically diagnosed with it, but biopsies may show it to be negative. We will find out hopefully in the next month if the GI wants to scope him or not. Either way, we are already 1/2 way doing the elimination diet and elemental diet. I really think Pacen would benefit from having just the elemental formula diet to clear his system, but the doctors didn't think that was a step we needed to take quite yet since we had just found out all of the things he was allergic to in the beginning of January. With the way he reacts to things now after eliminating the allergens, I'm going to get their opinion on it after we've had a month of "allergen free" and he still broke out in hives 3 times, vomited, eczema flares and up all night crank fests.
And, for what we've all been waiting for.... Pacen started walking a little bit this weekend! You will need to click the link at the bottom of this page to go to the blogger website to view the video if you are viewing it in your email right now. He hasn't been too brave, yet. Mostly just walking 5 or so steps at a time. YEY! We are so excited!
