November!

How is Thanksgiving already this week? This year has flown by, and time for an update.

We got the results of Pacen's EEG back, there were bursts of patterns that represented seizures, but they didn't have a long enough EEG to determine anything further. Other than that, the EEG was normal, and we will most likely have to have a longer one in the future. Since then, we started Pacen on a med called Keppra to reduce what seizures he was having. He would go 3-4 days in a row where he'd sleep 14 hours at night, and take a 4-5 hour nap the next day, and not do any activity to warrant excessive sleep. Not typical. Since starting the med, he's only had 3 seizures that we've seen. Two where he dropped to the floor (he was ok, no injuries), and one while in the stroller and he was zoned out/dilated pupils for around 4-6 seconds. His sleep pattern has improved so much. Back to the normal 12 hrs a night, active during the day and a 2ish hour nap, he's got more energy and more playful. We go back tot he Neuro in December on the 9th.

As far as his nutrition, he's been doing well. His weight is steady and even on the 25%! That is awesome! This time last year he wasn't even above the 5%! At his 2 year appt he weighed 26lbs 7oz, and one month later he weighs 26 lbs 10 oz.  Not a huge gain, but kiddos do slow down a bit after they are over the 1 year mark. He is still taking formula, and we have been working with his nutritionist, Lee Ann, to see if we can get him to eat instead of drink. She's been helping with menus and portions of what is more important/healthy vs what he will actually eat. My mommy mind is saying, "let him eat whatever he will eat so he isn't hungry." But, on the other side of things, we don't want him eating junk/processed crap.

Grandma & Grandpa Blair & Great Grandma & Grandpa Blair came for a week long visit the 16-22. We went down to Carlsbad and toured the caverns. It was really cool! MJ loved it and walked through the whole path. Pacen napped most of the way, but I took some pictures for him so he could remember the trip ;)  We also went out to White Sands National Monument, and made a Thanksgiving dinner. The day after they headed back to Iowa, we got 4" of snow. It was SO weird to have snow in the desert, in November none the less. It has all melted already. MJ had fun, but Pace didn't like it. He turned quite purple and swollen from the cold, even with mittens on.

This week we are doing a Thanksgiving potluck with friends, and doing a little Black Friday shopping. Levi's dreading the shopping, but he can stay at home with the kids! I can't pass up the good deals!

I'm having trouble getting the photos to load, so I will try back with another post and see if I can get them to upload then.
