It has been a few days since my last post, and I've been busy taking care of all 3.5 boys in my house since Levi's surgery, this leaves little time for updating the blog! Pacen has an appointment just around the corner at Dr. Santos' office on the 10th. I need to call and see when I can get his 4 month appointment made. That's right FOUR months old in February! I can't believe it. Time has flown by! I've officially put away all of Pacen's newborn sized clothes except for a few things that still fit until he gets into all of the 0-3 month clothes; Such a good sign!
We welcomed the use of Zantac for Pacen on 23 January after a horrible, up-all-night puke fest that resulted in an uncomfy little boy with a sour tummy and a sleepy mommy that did a lot of laundry the next day. He is taking 1 ML twice daily. Within 2 days he was a completely different baby. Now, going back to the GI scan results, the GI doctor said that Pacen's reflux was very minimal (6 photos out of 120 showed reflux & vomiting) and he didn't need reflux meds at all. So, now we have this little piglet child that went from drinking 2 oz every 2-3 hours to 3-4 oz every 2-3 hours resulting in an average of 36-40 oz per day. At his next weight check, I will accept no less than 12 lbs. I just can't see how a kiddo eating over 1000 calories per day wouldn't gain weight when he is stationary. I am anxious to call and make an appt to get a weight check for Thursday or Friday of this week even. I just may, I need to know his weight, height & head size!! It will keep me sane until his regular 4 month well child visit.
I will be so thrilled when his little stat marker is on the growth chart and not an inch below it! I am hoping this Zantac will be all he needs to grow, grow, grow and that it is just his reflux that is holding him back from meeting his growth milestones.
He is meeting his developmental milestones to an extent. He continues to smile like crazy, he loves it! He is becoming more and more vocal each day as well. When he giggles it is just hilarious. We will hold his hands above his head and say "SOOOO BIIIG!" to see his huge smiles. Merik loves to show Pacen his things and see Pacen smile at them. Pacen rolls to his sides, not intentionally because he is trying to roll away, but just because he had flipped his legs up and over while wriggling around. He does well with holding his head up while being held and steadying it that way. When he lays on his tummy, he cannot pull his head up or hold himself up on his forearms.
