Blair Family: 5 Months

Mr. Pacen Wade is 5 months old!

5 Month Stats:
12 lbs 8 oz
24 3/4" long
16" head circ

5 Month Milestones:
Rolling to his side
Briefly holding his bottle
Grasping toys
Chewing on everything
Playing in his exersaucer
Teething like crazy

5 Month Goals:
Rolling from tummy to back
Rolling from back to tummy
Neck & Trunk strength @ tummy time

Pacen has been doing great on his new reflux medicine. He is on Prevacid Solutab 7.5mg twice daily. Its a little fruity flavored disintegrating tab that he gets in the side of his cheek 30 minutes before eating. With the Zantac he would still vomit, have several reflux spells each day, and be uncomfortable. He maybe has 1 reflux spell per day, no vomit and hardly spits up at all with the Prevacid. I was really hoping he would have gained more than 14 oz, but he did shoot up an inch and 1/2 in length, and his head circumference is growing slowly but surely! Good Job, Pace!

We had his 5 month weight check, but we did not get to see Dr. Harwood. He was on vacation enjoying family time with his new little one, so we saw Dr. Garcia, who I believe is new to Holloman. I wish he would have taken 15 seconds before walking into the exam room to read Pacen's chart, it would have at least caught him up on the fact that we were there for a weight check, to discuss Pacen's new med, & talk about the neurology appt and all of that good stuff. Instead, he acted like he had no idea why we would even bring our child into the doctors office at 5 months old. So I had to cliff note Pacen's life in about 20 words or less as to why he was having this monthly appt. Dr. Harwood would have already known everything and would have hit the ground running.

I need to call next week and remind Dr. Harwood's nurse to make copies of Pacen's file & get the GI records to take to Dr. Woody on 9 April for him to review Pacen's chart to date. Maybe we will get some real answers to all of this. Some days I think to myself that everything is perfectly fine. Other times, I think why would they send us to see all of these specialists if they were not looking for something. I guess we will just continue to go through the motions and see where it takes us. Either way, whatever it may be is already established.
