Today I took Pace into see Dr. H. Pace has not been peeing much for the past week. His diapers are just damp 1-2 times per day, and hardly wet overnight. He has done this before, when he was really tiny, like 3 - 11 months he would sporadically not pee overnight and into the day, despite drinking a lot. Dr. H ordered blood work to check for infection and kidney function, a urine sample and a referral to the urologist. Thankfully the urologist is in Alamogordo <-- this never happens!!
Pace had the blood work done today, and he did great. He didn't even flinch or cry, he is a rock star. We get to collect his urine in a bag overnight and then bring it into the lab in the morning to see if there is anything culturing in it. We got his blood drawn at 2pm and at 3:15 Dr. H called me to say the kidney function is normal, but his white blood count is high. No worries though, it is probably just something viral since he does not have any other symptoms besides decreased appetite and being sleepy. His liquid intake is great, at around 24+ oz per day. It really sucks that there is always something going on with Pace, but I am happy that we have an excellent pediatrician and office staff that care about Pacen and to help us get the specialists we need. Dr H said that his lack of urine output could be anything or nothing, but since Pacen likes to go rogue, we need to get it double checked.
Hugs and love to the Pace man!! Just another road bump, making him even more resilient <3 parents of the year definitely goes to Jen & Levi Blair with an honorable mention of best big brother going to Merik! Sending prayers and love your way <3 <3
