Oh, Pacen.

Just when we thought we wouldn't have ANY doctor appointments in the month of June, it gets backfired! I got a call from daycare that Pacen was wheezing heavily. I called the nurse line right away and they called back and said to take him to the ER right away. So I picked Pace up and off we went. He was grunting and wheezing for sure. We only waited a few minutes and we were taken right back and had breathing treatments started, then an oral steroid, and a set of chest x-rays. Pacen was observed for about 1 1/2 hours and then we were able to go home with some more oral steroid to help his swollen air way. How he managed to get a swollen air way out of nowhere beats me. He has a little bit of a cold, but nothing other than a runny nose.

Dr. Harwood's nurse called me this morning to see how Pacen was doing, and that morning he had still been wheezing and grunting, so they wanted me to bring him in. His appointment wasn't until 1:30, and by that time his medicine had finally kicked in to reduce the swelling and he sounded pretty good for less than 24 hours out! Dr. Harwood confirmed that he did not have asthma (which was our discharge diagnosis), he also does not have croup, a respiratory infection, or pneumonia. By the time we got home for the evening at 5pm, he was starting to get wheezy again.  Pacen had his dinner, meds and now is tucked into bed for the night, hopefully he will sleep well!

Also, Shadow was adopted today! I hope he enjoys his new home and his new family! Tucker misses his little friend.

On Monday, I registered Levi and I up to run a 5K called The Color Run in Albuquerque on 25 August. On Tuesday, Levi tells me that he is slotted to go on a Silver Flag TDY to Germany, on the same day... Randomly, and this guy never goes anywhere, but when we actually plan to do something fun, and pay for it... a TDY comes up. I am still going to run it, and bring a friend instead of Levi haha. Maybe Next year, Levi.
