Pacen is 22 months old! HOLY COW! I can't even believe that we will have a big boy 2 yr old on our hands in 2 months!
Today we had our GI and Allergist appts. They went pretty well, as opposed to the usual disappointment of more food restrictions and what not.
Pace weighed in at 25lbs even and 34.25" so that puts him at the 20% for weight and about the 60% for height.
GI:
GI was thrilled with how great and filled Pace looks from when we started seeing them back in November 2012. The nurse couldn't believe how healthy he looked now, she said it was a nice change from some of the terminally sick kiddos they had seen that am already. For a size comparison, when we started going to the GI and allergist in Abq and since starting Elacare Jr formoula he was 21.2 lbs at the 10% and right under 30" long at the 15%. They are upping his Miralax dose... again. Yey, I bet everyone is jealous of the poop clean out that I get to handle this week ;) haha
We are going to try to manage his bloating a little
differently, by adding more Miralax. Dr Noel thinks that any amount of firm stool that he may have is causing the bloating. The bloating has been keeping him up until 2-3am, crying in pain and his belly gets huge. It isn't ok at all, and gas drops haven't been helping. If that doesn't do the trick we will try a different method. The doc doesn't think his reflux is coming back even though
he's been spitting up lately (2-3 times a week of sour smelling stomach juices) with no new foods being introduced. He's still almost
100% formula dependent and is getting a one way ticket to a feeding rehab program out of UNM.
Depending on how often feeding rehab will be, we might switch the facility to El
Paso since it is closer. And, unfortunately, all of the doctors and PA's at the UNM GI department have resigned and are leaving the department to find work else where. Dr. Noel didn't go too far into detail as to why, but he did tell me that him and another pedi GI are going to San Antonio, and that there is also another great pedi GI at the Army hospital there in San Antonio named Dr. Jones.
Allergist: Keep up what we are doing, because he isn't reacting to anything (BIG YEY!) We didn't test for any new foods, so we don't have any more to add, because he doesn't eat anything but formula. That is the best appt we've had with Dr. Clayton in the last 9 months. We don't have to go back until February!
Aside from our trip to Abq, we've been busy with getting Merik signed up for prek, he has started Tae Kwan Do, and tons of bike rides and walks when it gets cool outside in the evening. And by cool, I mean, below 90.
